ASR’s laboratory was inaugurated on 11th April 2011, the day of the multispecialty camp at Goindwal Sahib. The purpose-built room adjoins ASR’s free dispensary, and will provide invaluable blood and urine tests for helping to diagnose and manage patients attending the dispensary. As with other dispensary care, the tests are carried out free of charge.
Fully equipped with a wide range of brand new machines, equipment and reagents, the laboratory provides various basic testing facilities, including haemoglobin, kidney function, glucose and lipid levels and tests for malaria and other infections. A dedicated laboratory technician attends once weekly to perform the tests, which are available to all patients as per the doctors’ advice.
